Photo throughout your day: Ingmar Bergman Round the Number of 'Jaws' (No, Really)
Your likely first deliberation over seeing this photo of Ingmar Bergman round the number of 'Jaws' -- Illustrator! But that really does appear to become the legendary Swedish director examining the mouth of Bruce the shark. As this photo comes because of The Being approved qualifying criterion Collection's Facebook page (and not, say, eBay), it seems pretty legit. Who understood the man behind such cinema pieces of art as 'The Seventh Seal' was pals while using then up-and-coming Steven Spielberg? Although apparently plenty of famous filmmakers got on-board that train early: French auteur François Truffaut came out within the next film, 'Close Encounters in the Third Kind.' A lot of Facebook clients have formerly develop good quality captions, including: David Fogg: &lrm"You're gonna need a bigger existential crisis" Will Hattman: Using a Glass, Sharkly Jim Shulman: The seventh seal was the appetizer Scott MacKenzie: Redefines the title "Smiles from the Summer season Evening." (Well, Bruce was Moviefone's Smilingest Male Villain ever.) Then one conspiracy theory from Rob Yana: "The truth is, that's an Animatronics Specialist wearing a Bergman mask, the photo can be a hoax, haha! Want proof, have a look at his lab coat." Here's taking a chance that Bergman idolizer Woodsy Allen is crying his eyes out somewhere the director never visited the number of 'Annie Hall.' To date as everyone knows, anyway.
Star Maker or Doorstop? Emmy Winners on the Value of the Award
Kevin Winter/Getty Images Are Melissa McCarthy and Peter Dinklage now household names? The plus-sized actress walked off with the Emmy for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series, beating out veteran funny women, including past winners Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie) and Tina Fey (30 Rock). And the 4'5" Dinklage nabbed the supporting drama actor statue for HBO's Game of Thrones, his first Emmy after a career as a journeyman player. "I'd never had [a lead role] before," gushed a still overwhelmed McCarthy backstage at the Nokia Theatre. McCarthy was literally crowned -- with a diamond tiara and a bouquet of red roses -- the Emmy winner. And her heartfelt acceptance speech ("Wow! It's my first and best pageant ever! Holy smokes!") delighted the A-list crowd. PHOTOS: Emmys Red Haute Mamas Asked backstage what value winning the Emmy will have on his career, Dinklage mused: "That will be interesting. You never know going into anything how it will affect the public." During his acceptance speech, Dinklage thanked his fellow nominees: Mad Men's John Slattery; Andre Braugher from Men of a Certain Age; Justified's Walton Goggins and The Good Wife's Josh Charles and Alan Cumming. "Come on, any of you guys could be up here," said Dinklage. PHOTOS: Emmys 2011: Best and Worst Moments Sure, nabbing the Emmy means weeks if not months of bragging rights for the recipient and an instantly recognizable marketing trademark to slap on network promos and DVD sets. Matthew Weiner's Mad Men has won the outstanding drama Emmy each of the four seasons it has been on. No mean feat, Weiner told The Hollywood Reporter. "It was huge. It literally translates into publicity for the show," says Weiner. PHOTOS: Emmys 2011: Snubs Julianna Margulies picked up the Emmy for lead actress in a drama for The Good Wife, an award she was also nominated for last year. But this year, CBS is moving Good Wife from the Tuesdays to Sundays at 9 p.m. where it will have to compete with marquee dramas on cable including HBO's Boardwalk Empire. "Everyday is a fight over ratings," said co-creator and executive producer Robert King. "So anything like that is good. With our move to Sunday we really want a higher profile." Laura Linney -- who was the odds-on favorite to win the comedy Emmy that ended up in McCarthy's hands -- says for a first year show, a nomination let alone a win, can be an entre for viewers who may not have considered a show that treats breast cancer as a comic device. PHOTOS: Emmys 2011: Red Carpet Arrivals "For our show [The Big C], which was considered a risky undertaking, it validates that something about it is working," Linney told THR. "That's very nice. And hopefully [that] will give people who are a little nervous to watch it... permission to tune in." PBS' Downton Abbey dominated the newly combined movie and miniseries category, winning four Emmys on Sunday night, including outstanding miniseries and supporting actress (Maggie Smith), more than Mildred Pierce or any of HBO's additional entries. The category heretofore played at the Emmy telecast like a mid-show commercial for HBO. Creator and writer Julian Fellowes characterized Downton's win as a David and Goliath story. PHOTOS: Emmys 2011: Executives Hit the Red Carpet "HBO has tremendous marketing and advertising muscle behind it," said Masterpiece executive producer Rebecca Eaton. "This is about a show that stands on its merits and the Academy recognized that. I'm very proud of it." Fellows said that the Emmy is "recognition for your work." And with the second season of Downton Abbey coming in January 2012, that awareness can be critical. "When you make these programs you so want them to find their audience and register," he said. STORY: Emmy Winners: The Complete List And if you suddenly find yourself out of work, a recently won Emmy could be a nice calling card. "To be selected [from] among so many fabulous actors feels very gratifying," said Margo Martindale, who at 60 years old picked up her first Emmy for FX's Justified and will be seen this season in the CBS drama A Gifted Man. But, adds Martindale, "[I'm] not getting more offers because I'm not available." But unlike an Oscar -- which sends consumers to the box-office -- the Emmy does not appear to have much quantifiable value beyond the branding benefit of the television industry's good housekeeping seal of approval. STORY: Emmys 2011: The Winners React "I think its value is questionable," said David Nevins, president of entertainment, Showtime Networks. Nevins' is an executive producer on Friday Night Lights, which finally garnered Emmy recognition for lead actor Kyle Chandler and executive producer Jason Katims, who nabbed the Emmy for drama series writing. "It's a little bit more questionable for network shows but for Showtime, there's no question that it enhances prestige and the perception of quality. That's what we sell as a subscription, we want people to feel like the best shows in television are on Showtime." STORY: 'Modern Family's' Sofia Vergara Answers Raunchy Questions From Reporters For some series, the Emmy can keep be part of a life-extending regimen if not a ratings bonanza. Fox's Arrested Development picked up five Emmys in 2004 for its first season including outstanding comedy series, but it never became a ratings hit. NBC's 30 Rock has been a perennial Emmy darling and is still a ratings also-ran. "Anything that's very legitimate and mainstream that says 'good' is very positive for a show that's small from a small network," says Louis C.K., who was nominated as outstanding actor in a comedy for his semiautobiographical FX series Louie. "It doesn't necessarily mean more people will watch it, but it will extend our time a little more, maybe. And it'll reward the network and the people that let me do it, that's what matters." Whatever the Emmy does -- or doesn't do -- for his career, Dinklage does have one practical use for the six-pound gold-plated piece of hardware. More Riddick Concept Art Online
Because of Vin Diesel.... Vin Diesel has started making it something from the habit to write new idea art within the continuously developing third outing for his steely-eyed space hard nut Riddick. The newest chunk created with the new movie's artists is below for that searching pleasure. Released of course on Diesel's Facebook page, the artwork is based on one of the actor's usual happy, passionate missives..."Concept art and key frames allow a production to educate yourself regarding options before really undertaking to film. The technique towards the R rating, that numerous you're vocal about, is really a extended one. The advantage however, (never empower the disadvantages) was that individuals were allowed an extremely extensive pre-production process. The artwork is actually good, the entertainers have really surpassed themselves in illustrating our world at its initial phase. If the film requires the screen.... understand that you willed it into being!Haha.... I obtained two conferences today that I have been planning for.... one while using director and also the other one while using mind in the studio to talk about casting as well as the 2012 release date. Like always, I appreciate having your voice found in these conferences. "The art has indeed all been impressive up to now, which latest, moody piece titled The Best Stand of Riddick certainly looks intriguing. With David Twohy once more controlling matters, the completely new Riddick film appears being striving inside a 2012 release date, though unless of course obviously it's a truly removed-lower production this time around around, they might want to get yourself a proceed with shooting if they wish to hit cinemas just before the conclusion of next season...

Amy Poehler concerning the Emmys as well as the Evolution of Parks and Hobbies Adorable Leader
Amy Poehler Within the finish of last season on Parks and Entertainment, Pawnee's most upbeat and tireless civil servant, Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler), was handed a choice: fulfill a long-term dream and run for city council or continue dating her boss, the equally smitten Ben. With the finish of next week's Season 4 premiere, her decision will probably be made. Fall Preview: Get scoop inside your favorite returning shows If Leslie chooses to use, Poehler asks, "How cynical does [she] have to become to win an election? How can it change her?" Inside the title of Pawnee, she's already tended to have an unsightly land pit, elevated in the dead the town's dormant Harvest Festival, and gone mind-to-mind while using rival neighborhood of Eagleton about the shared park. Does she really wish to scale new bureaucratic levels? "Pawnee is her kid, right?" Poehler states. "So she'll have to begin to trading time from her kid, and won't she miss her kid?" Do not count Ben (Adam Scott) out at this time around. "Nutrients are happening for Leslie this season, but they're not always at a good time. So Season 4 is kind of her requiring to outlive through plenty of fallout. And there are many really funny comedy which is available in the options they makes and unmakes and makes again..." Searching back, though, Leslie has always known all along what direction to go. couple of years ago within the begin with the 2nd season, Poehler spoken freely in regards to the character's extended-term journey balancing hometown pride and political ambition, possibly foreshadowing her character's Sophie's Choice. "Can she fight feeling like she'll never be capable of change anything? Will she get taken up in political gain with techniques which can make her lose an eye on why she started to start with?Inch But enough going for a chance for the moment. After two seasons of rave reviews - together with a slot on NBC's fall selection -- Poehler is merely very happy to understand that audiences are as concerned as she's for Pawnee's adorable leader. "We always thought when individuals started to comprehend these figures, they'd love them and they'd need to visit them over and over again. The fact people say products in my experience all the time like, 'What's likely to occur to Leslie?' 'Oh my God, I'm worried about her!' 'I'm so happy she's carried this out well!' 'Is she prone to stay with Ben?'... that kind of stuff feels as if the finest accomplishment beyond any outdoors recognition." Although there are many the exact same thing, between Poehler being named among Time's 100 most influential people (and saying because of her baby caregivers while accepting) and Parks and Entertainment landing Emmy nominations for top comedy series and lead actress. Poehler published last season's second episode, "Flu Season," through which Leslie battles a burning fever making her consult with posters and say things like "I'm Leslie Monster that is Nightline," before yanking it together just extended enough to supply a game title title-changing speech. Parks and Rec boss concerning the show's first series Emmy nom and what Ron Swanson would say Asked for what she'll do if her title is called throughout Sunday's honours ceremony, Poehler is decidedly undecided. "I'll probably function moments from my one-lady show," she joked. "No, I'd like my acceptance speech being very visual, so I'll probably function it rapidly. Or I'll execute a Ms ms powerpoint presentation." "The course is full of such funny, juicy, gifted women that merely coping with go to the show feels as if winning." (Nick Offerman, who plays Ron Swanson, told TVGuide.com he felt in different ways: "I've come across some predictions that favor these Showtime suggests which are, you understand, decidedly not comedies but feature incredible stars. However when the title in the category is much better leading actress in the comedy, i rapidly think if Amy doesn't win it, it's a crime. Really, it is really an hot load of bullsh--.") Fall TV: Have the lowdown relating to this season's must-see new shows Effective or not successful, Poehler states Parks and Entertainment is about the roll, as well as the sea change if this involves where the show is becoming versus this past year -- if the had spent the summer season filming episodes in the vacuum, only to get shelved for midseason -- can be a welcome one. "In my opinion we're finally feeling like we're capable of exhale a little. But that's what's really awesome. I'm speaking about, look, we're very excited being nominated with an Emmy. It is really an awesome feeling, also to have our effort validated by doing this is great,In . she mentioned. "Concurrently, we now have had this type of interesting path relating to this show. We kind of never understood the thing that was coming next, and then we just needed to achieve that factor where we required to put our heads lower and continue to execute a show and continue to ensure it is good and not worry a great deal in regards to the exterior products that people was without total treatments for. And So I am proud it led to this solid Season 3 and so on recognition, but we're just going to perform exactly the same factor this year.In . "There exists a very Midwestern attitude in regards to the approach we decide to try make our show, like the people of Pawnee. It'll sense great to be capable of go just like a cast this year and celebrate together." Return Thursday for that speak with Nick Offerman, who dishes about Season 3, including his applying for grants Ron Swanson's many Tammys, approaching woodshop works of art and also the favorite fan-made ode to Ron.

So, The Amount Of Money Will 'Drive' Make, Anyway?
'Straw Dogs' isn't the main wide release hiding some potential audience-problem elements within the marketing campaign. Out Friday, 'Drive' remains situated just like a revenge tale-cum-love story, with handsome Ryan Gosling and perky Carey Mulligan trying to really make it in Los Angeles' seedy underbelly. Sounds great! Plus it mostly is -- provided you'll be able to stand the vista of somebody getting their mind blown off. (Literally.) 'Drive' is most likely not most likely probably the most violent wide release of year based on sheer body count -- 'Transformers: Dark in the Moon' is possibly more violent since that film basically kills every citizen of Chicago -- nevertheless the carnage in Nicolas Winding Refn's art-house thriller is brutal, sloppy, squishy and shocking. That is what Refn been in mind. While he told Moviefone the other day, "The initial half is very champagne. Greatly the chastity of love. If the visits the gloomy, it may be very extreme and violent." And the way! Which enhances the question: just what will audiences think? Box office figures throughout opening weekend are nearly always triggered by marketing campaigns, as well as the 'Drive' campaign is really a mixed bag. The posters -- built around out-of-context stills within the film -- are coolness cat-puppy puppy nip to people 'Drive'-heads who've already seen the film through press tests, festivals and so forth, but they just do not say much to potential ticket customers. (Even though cheeky pink-script font certainly may recall 'Grand Robbery Auto: Vice City' for a lot of.) The trailers are better, featuring the romance, stakes and conflict. Since the Yahoo! Projector blog highlights, 'Drive' had an unavoidable presence throughout Nfl opening weekend -- prime positioning for just about any film searching to get male audiences with the handful. Which, apparently, might be the crowd FilmDistrict is gunning for. That's why is 'Drive' an amazing box-office situation. It is not an indie release striking numerous theaters in NY and La by getting an extended roll-to follow along with: 'Drive' is on 2,886 screens a couple of days ago, greater than fellow new releases 'Straw Dogs' and 'I Have No Clue How She'll It.A The film is obviously the most effective of this bunch -- its Rotten Tomato vegetables rating almost doubles 'Dogs' and 'Does It' combined -- as well as the studio is most likely wanting massive advance word-of-mouth, critical love as well as the comet-like star-energy of Ryan Gosling might help 'Drive' top its new-release competition. Do you use it? Per BoxOffice.com, mostly. 'Drive' is monitoring to earn around $12.7 million a couple of days ago, sufficient for third place behind the re-problem of 'The Lion King 3D' and weekend a few 'Contagion.' When happens, FilmDistrict, Refn and movie fanatics who require more within the usual Hollywood product will breathe a sigh of relief. How 'Drive' does beyond that, however -- when word-of-mouth about its violence, additionally to its art-house leanings, begins to spread -- remains an problem mark. For a lot of, that could make 'Drive' really a location to choose others, it will likely be a massive turn-off. Much less Refn is anxious either in situation. When Moviefone asked for him in regards to the pervasive images in 'Drive,' he responded as being a guy at ease with their very own film. "The higher the drama, the higher the entertainment." Hopefully audiences agree. Photo: FilmDistrict The amount of money will \'Drive\' get this weekend?Under $12 millionMore than $12 millionVote

Super hero for just one day per yearNow the Dark Tower is no more on his slate at Universal, Ron Howard is arranging alternative work as 364, a super hero drama about an individual who has superpowers for just eventually each year. No, it's really no relation then to Fernando Meirelles' LFF opener 360 and also you haven't skipped the 3 in-between. The script's from an authentic pitch by David Guggenheim, the author of Ryan Reynolds / Denzel Washington thriller Safe House and follow-ups Santiago and Puzzle Structure.
